Filmmaking Principles Applied to Digital Products

Our favorite movies are at the top of our best-ever-lists for a reason. They have great characters we buy into and weave story-lines we become engrossed in. They share themes we can grab on to and evoke visceral reactions that make us feel engaged. In crafting them, filmmakers and their crews shoot multiple scenes at different times, out of sequence, simultaneously at various locations. Yet the final product is expertly threaded together and guides the audience through an experience.
Through the lens of storytelling and film, we'll look at how we can employ some of the same approaches, methods and principles that filmmakers use as we craft digital experiences for our audiences.

The Nashville Technology Council presents this session led by Jon Shearer, SVP of Digital Products at Ramsey Solutions ( as part of their Marketing & Technology Strategy Peer Network.  Jon is a senior executive with over 20 years crafting experiences through technology.  In his current role, he is responsible for new and existing digital initiatives for all three divisions of the company. Additional information is available here.
