Randy Hatch's book WINLESS WINNER was instrumental in the The New York Times featuring the Carroll Academy Lady Jags basketball team which he founded and coaches in a series of 8 front page series articles in 3 separate years. His screenplay TAKING THE LAST SHOT also about the Carroll Academy Lady Jags and Jaguars basketball teams won 1st place at the prestigious Los Angeles All Sports Film Festival in Hollywood California which laid the groundwork for ESPN's Emmy recognized documentary LOSING TO WIN which was featured on OUTSIDE THE LINES and SportsCenter Featured. He has written 3 other screenplays (A WORLD TURNED UPSIDE DOWN about a teenage Tennessee boy who awakes to his parent's murder-suicide on the day Richard Nixon would resign his Presidency causing him to runaway on an improbable journey to Australia) (IF PLANES WERE SHOOTING STARS the story of a high school quarterback recruit who must choose between living his childhood dream of playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide and being near his widowed mother-in-law or attending UCLA where he met and fell in love with his cheerleader campus hostess) (THE LORD'S LIE the story of a preacher who abuses the power of his church to smear the reputation of a local school administrator who has unwittingly discovered that the preacher's daughter is stealing prescription drugs from unsuspecting church members while entangled in an affair with a female student) and a TV series script (RAISING MOMMA the story of a teenage girl trying to help her mother overcome drug addiction) all winning and recognized in 41 film festivals in the United States, Great Britain, Australia, and New Zealand. He is currently writing another book and working on a film project. Randy Hatch serves as the Director of Carroll Academy/Carroll County Juvenile Court in Huntingdon, Tennessee. He is a graduate of Bethel University in McKenzie, Tennessee and attended UCLA's Screenwriting Program in Los Angeles, California.
